OVERVIEW
The Martyn Lawrence Bullard website redesign project involved the complete overhaul of an outdated, non-responsive website to create a modern, user-friendly platform that could seamlessly integrate eCommerce functionalities in the future. The challenge was to rebuild the site from the ground up while ensuring it met the client's immediate needs and had the scalability to accommodate future expansions.
PROJECT BRIEF
The primary goal of this project was to transition Martyn Lawrence Bullard's website to a modern content management system (CMS) capable of supporting eCommerce functionality. The client opted for WordPress and WooCommerce as the platform of choice. The project required a complete redesign of the site's architecture, user interface (UI), and user experience (UX).
ROLE
In this project, I served as the sole UX/UI designer and was responsible for the entire design and architectural aspects of the website. This encompassed developing a visually appealing and user-friendly interface, as well as designing the site's structure to ensure it aligned with the client's business catalog needs and future requirements. Collaboration with the WordPress Special Projects team was essential, with my role focusing on the design and specification aspects of the project.
METHODS
Design Iterations: The project began with multiple design iterations to establish the overall look and feel of the website. This involved refining the visual elements to align with the client's branding and aesthetic preferences.
Collaboration: Close collaboration with the WordPress Special Projects team ensured seamless integration of the design into the WordPress and WooCommerce framework.
Client Engagement: To understand the client's immediate and future needs, I worked closely with Martyn Lawrence Bullard's design team. This allowed us to plan for future expansions and catalog requirements.
Design Documents: I provided comprehensive design documents and specifications to guide the development process, ensuring that the final product matched the approved design.
This website redesign project for Martyn Lawrence Bullard not only modernized the platform but also laid the foundation for future eCommerce capabilities.
